With the boom of email and social media, the art of letter writing has begun to fade away. Which is a shame because I enjoy writing, sending and receiving old fashion letters. Thankfully, companies such as Minted still affordable and fun stationary and photo Christmas cards that helps keep letter writing alive. Don’t let the word affordable deceive you. Just because something is inexpensive doesn’t mean it can’t be cute and stylish. And Minted proves that with a large selection of modern, elegant and timeless personalized stationary and paper products including labels, business cards and part decor.
Minted also provides interesting craft ideas on their blog Julep, which is chock-full of activities that artistes of all skill level can complete. After browsing through the site, I found once such craft idea that is a definite must for me to try this holiday season; Make Your Own Typography Cookies. I love to bake and the amount of goodies that I create in my kitchen triples during the Christmas season. And since I am a bit of a font hoarder, I have a large selection of beautiful fonts that would look deliciously lovely as a sugar cookie. This idea is so versatile that it can be customized for any occasion! For example, tonight is the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special Day of the Doctor (fangirl squeal) and you could create typography cookies using the official Doctor Who font (which you can get from the BBC website) and spell out words associated with the show (Exterminate, Timey Wimey, Geronimo, Allons-y or Fantastic).
I cannot wait to try these cookies. My little cousins are going to love getting iced sugar cookies that spell out their name!
